IRD Updated Communication Channels

<< Go Back

We were recently updated by our IRD Compliance Officer on how correspondence is now being sent to all IRD clients.

If you have set up your MyIR account, letters will NO LONGER be sent ‘in the post’. Rather you will be notified by text or email that you have a letter/message to read that is available through your MyIR portal.

This is where you can find letters:

  • Login to your MyIR
  •
  • Go to ‘I want to’
  •
  • Under ’Communicating with IR’ select ‘View messages/letters’
  •

These letters & messages are important to read as they can relate  to:

  • Instalment arrangements
  •
  • Repayment of IRD Small Business Loan
  •
  • Grace payment periods for filing late tax returns
  •
  • Changes in filing frequencies and methods
  •
  • Overdue debt reminders
  •
  • And more
  •

Our understanding now is if you DO NOT have an MyIR account, letters will still be sent in the post, either to us being your tax agent where we will forward onto you if it is important, or it will be sent directly to your address as per IRD records.

If you need any further clarification please get in touch with our team.
