Here at Advanced Accounting we like to keep your mind at ease. Wondering how we work? Frequently asked questions that may be going through your mind right now:

When are you going to do my accounts?

• When you file your tax through an accountant, we have up until 31st March to file your returns

• We schedule your accounts throughout the year. If we did them in June last year, we’ll do them again in June this year. Let us know if you:

             o want to know when yours will be completed

              o have a particular time you would prefer them to be completed

              o have an urgent need to get them done, e.g. to apply for a bank loan

What do you need from me?

• If your accounts are on Xero, and we do your GST returns, very little!

• In general, keep aside these documents:

              o Loan/Hire Purchase statements

              o Invoices for large purchases

              o Legal invoices

              o Settlement statements for property transactions

              o Stock on hand & Work in Progress at balance date

• When we prepare your accounts, we will ask for any specific information at that time

What if I don’t hear from you?

• If we have all the information we need, we will contact you once we have a draft set of accounts for you to approve

• If we are preparing GST returns, PAYE returns or monthly reports for you, we will contact you on a more regular basis

• You are always welcome to phone or email us with any questions; no extra charge

How do I know how much tax to pay?

• We will send out reminders for your terminal and provisional tax payments

• GST and PAYE will be advised towards the middle of the month in which they are due

What about non-annual tax work?

• If you need us to prepare any particular work, e.g. a cashflow for a loan application or a Summary For Sale for a business sale, please contact us. We’ll deal with it as soon as possible.

Xero doesn’t look right?

• If we are not preparing regular work for you throughout the year, we won’t necessarily notice errors in your file until we prepare your end of the year accounts.  If you think your Xero file looks ‘wrong’, please contact us to sort it straight away.

Still lost? Call us! There is no extra charge for phone calls or emails (within reason), and it’s much easier to solve a problem in its early stages.
