At session one of Advanced Accountings’ Business Development Group six business owners from different industries met in the boardroom at the Advanced Accounting office’s ready to develop their businesses and forge new networks.
BDG leader Aaran McLeod led the group through the structure, expectations and rules of the group – confidentiality is key to allowing business owners to reveal sensitive information for discussion. The focus was clearly established with the thread of accountability being woven through the group so that the fabric of the development group would be strong.
The group worked through the material which outlined what would be covered over the entirety of the course. The first step was to evaluate our own businesses and identify strengths and weaknesses, businesses need to be strong to carry on working into the future. Relaying their own experiences, how they thought that they might not have or could be more accountable, each person had a relatable story which was heartening and relationship building within the group.
Despite the diverse industries represented the common bond formed by shared business experiences drew the group together and everybody left the session with fresh ideas and new passion towards their business..
