The beginning of session three saw group members greeting each other with friendly familiarity.   Members of the group enquired after each other’s issues and successes over the month, which were discussed with trustful ease.  Group members were more than happy to bring their problems to the table recognising that a problem shared is a problem halved and that they needn’t find solutions for every problem themselves.

This month the group learned about personal foundations and how important it is for their business as well as their team to know what personal strengths and weaknesses they bring to work.  Recognising the need to make changes so that personality types are working to their strengths is crucial to having a strong team and achieving to the best of their abilities.  Group members had the opportunity to assess their personality types and some results were surprising.  Learning how this knowledge can be used as a great tool in their businesses was insightful and invigorating for the team.

The group explored the differences between a technician, a manager and, an entrepreneur, observing the need to recognise the roles that each of these positions plays in business development and making sure that as business owners they are not carrying out roles that are detrimental to their business.

Finally the group discussed time management skills and learnt new methods to ensure that important tasks are dealt with in a timely and effective way.

Placing personal visions and values at the foundation of business helped the group to understand their businesses from a different perspective and left them with a lot to think about.
